What a treasure of a song. A rare flower indeed and a friend without peer. This is a traditional Irish song, a mother singing to her adult child who is setting off for who knows where. Bound for new lands, new loves, for hardship, loneliness, and adventure. By choice or by circumstance. She sings that this child will always be loved, always remembered, and to never forget where you come from. This is for my sister. I feel her in my skin, I will never forget her. Treasure of my heart.
