Over The Mountain (1)
He said “my pretty fair maid, it’s good to meet you here
For it is here on the mountain your beauty shines so clear
Your beauty shines so clear
So if by chance you look for me, perhaps you’ll not me find
But I’ll be in my Green Castle, beyond the mountain side
Beyond the mountain side…”
He Moves Through The Fair
Last night he said to me “your mother won’t mind,
And my father won’t slight you for your lack of kine”
And he laid his hand on me and to me did say
“Ah it will not be long, love, till our wedding day”
And he stepped away from me and he’s gone to the fair
And so fondly I watched him move here and move there
And he stepped away from me, with one star awake
As the swan in the evening moves over the lake
Last night he came to me, my own dead love came in
And so softly he came and his feet made no din
And he laid his hand on me and to me did say
“Ah it will not be long, love, till our wedding day”
Over The Mountain (2)
Sun and dark, sun and dark, sun and dark she followed him
For his eyes so bright did shine
And he led her over the mountain, beyond her mortal life
Beyond her mortal life…
So if by chance you look for me, perhaps you’ll not me find
But I’ll be in my Green castle, beyond the mountain side
Beyond the mountain side….
